Role Purpose
The Solution Architect helps the Firm deliver its business strategy through technology. They work on technology projects to translate business requirements into detailed architecture designs, ensure solutions align with technology roadmaps, and influence stakeholders to adopt strategic technology solutions. They guide projects through Technology Assurance processes, escalate risks and issues, and maintain knowledge of technology trends and the KPMG ecosystem.

Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) comprises over 450 technologists focused on seamless technology operations for KPMG.
The Team
Strategy & Architecture within EWT provides technology solutions, design, assurance, and strategic direction.
Core Knowledge
* Work with CTOs, SMEs, and projects to analyze and translate business requirements into feasible technical solutions.
* Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technology trends and their business impact.
* Develop expertise in KPMG’s technology ecosystem, including main applications and technologies supporting various capabilities.
* Develop expertise in Microsoft Dynamics and its supporting ecosystem, including third-party applications, data architecture, automation, and Power Platform.
* Advise and learn from other firms and clients on Microsoft Dynamics and CRM ecosystems.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
* Manage a portfolio of work supporting the Solution Architecture team across projects.
* Create and maintain solution architecture documentation.
* Support governance processes and help navigate Technology Assurance.
* Collaborate with various teams and external suppliers.
* Maintain a detailed view of existing architecture and manage transition to future state.
* Identify and communicate risks.
* Update relevant parties on progress.
* Assist with strategic enterprise application reviews.
* Build relationships within KPMG’s business and technology functions.
* Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
* Have competence in Application, Integration, Data, Technology, and Security architecture.
* Understand SaaS, Cloud hosting, and Azure technologies.
* Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure solutions meet requirements and standards.
* Possess broad knowledge of software development lifecycle, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
* Be an expert in at least one technology domain and knowledgeable in others.
* Understand EA governance, technical debt, and security assessments.
* Have substantial experience as a Software Engineer/Architect with successful products.
* Identify implementation issues and drive solutions.
* Experience with Agile SDLC and business analysis techniques.
* Explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Stay updated on technology trends and their business impact.
* Understand project management basics.
* Possess good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Leverage networks within KPMG for expertise.
* Work effectively with ambiguity and drive clarity.
* Have knowledge of Business Architecture and leading offshore teams.
* Understand GDPR and ISO 27001, and be qualified in ITIL and TOGAF.
