Lead the Bioanalytical MS Core Facility, one of 11 state-of-the-art cores within the Institute, funded by Cancer Research UK. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of a team delivering mass spectrometry-based bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic services.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Bioanalytical MS Core Facility.
* Deliver mass spectrometry-based bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic expertise to researchers across the Institute and clinical networks.
* Offer a diverse range of analytical capabilities, including quantification of therapeutic drugs and small molecules in various biological samples.
* Lead targeted metabolomics work for quantification of cancer-relevant metabolites.
* Support drug candidate selection through discovery pharmacokinetics, dose optimisation, and drug efficacy studies, in collaboration with the Biological Resources Unit and Small Animal Hospital.
* Ensure regulated bioanalysis in accordance with MHRA Good Clinical Practice guidelines for the Clinical Laboratory (GC(L)P) to measure drug concentrations and biomarkers in biological samples.
* Oversee the expansion of the MS portfolio with a new MS Imaging platform, develop approaches to determine spatial distribution of molecules within tissue, and explore tumor microenvironment biology.
* Engage with the wider campus community as the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital (CCRH) development progresses and identify opportunities for growth in regulated bioanalysis.
What We're Looking For
* A strong background in LCMS bioanalysis, pharmacokinetics, metabolomics or related fields.
* Proven experience in mass spectrometry and method development.
* Hands-on experience in managing a laboratory to a recognised quality system, ideally with knowledge of clinical studies and UK regulatory guidelines (incl. GCP, HTA).
