Formulate innovative strategies to achieve project objectives and drive success across the portfolio. To lead quantitative and qualitative risk analysis efforts. Be accountable for developing best practices in risk and opportunity management, implementing a comprehensive suite of procedures throughout all project delivery stages. Experience in deploying & performing QCRA and QSRA is essential. Serve as the focal point for risk and opportunity management, promoting best practices, providing expert advice on project risk management, and facilitating mitigation measures. Provide specialist risk support to stakeholders through risk and opportunity analysis, workshops, and reviews. Ensure that risks and opportunities are effectively identified, evaluated, mitigated, and monitored. Establish and maintain robust risk reporting and communication mechanisms for projects and across the corporation, ensuring transparency and accountability. Devise and implement staff training and engagement strategies to enhance risk awareness and foster a strong risk and opportunity management culture throughout the organisation. Develop and enforce assurance processes for the implementation of risk management in projects, ensuring the effectiveness of staff engagement and training initiatives. Participate in project reviews, senior management reporting, and resource allocation, ensuring the integration of activities across multiple major project operations for cohesive and effective project outcomes. Based in either London, Manchester, Bristol, or Reading, you need to be flexible to travel to client environments across the UK. Here's what you'll need In-depth knowledge of risk and opportunity management practices in construction projects, with a proven track record of successful implementation. Analytical Degree or equivalent qualification (Essential). A degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Project Management or a related discipline (Desirable). Specialist Risk Management Qualification IRM Diploma, PMI-RMP, MoR practitioner, APM Risk Practitioner (Level 2) or equivalent. Project Management Qualification PMP, AMP-PMQ, Prince2 or equivalent (Desirable) Experience in undertaking QCRA and QSRA is essential at higher level roles and desirable for other levels. Practical hands-on experience on risk analysis tools like Safran, Oracle PRA, @Risk, ARM, Predict, Risk Hive etc. Proven knowledge of current recognised risk management standards like ISO 31000/ COSO ERM/ APM PRAM etc (Desirable). Ability to review, develop, and maintain comprehensive risk and opportunity management frameworks, as well as to formulate new strategies that align with project objectives and enhance overall success. Experience in establishing and maintaining robust risk reporting and communication mechanisms, determining the frequency and format of reporting to senior management and stakeholders. Possession of corporate membership in a recognised professional institution like IRM, APM, PMI etc is highly desirable Exceptional communication and influencing skills to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. International exposure and experience with NEC project management methodologies are advantageous. Proven experience in risk management within PMO, Programme Controls, or Major Projects in the construction industry This role is NOT suitable for risk managers with experience only from the financial, commercial, digital or legal sectors. This is a client-facing role, so great communication skills are essential, together with a problem-solving mindset and can-do attitude to getting stuck in.
