About the Role
We’re working with a well-established main contractor who is looking to appoint a Senior Design Coordinator to join their growing team. The successful candidate will support the management of the design process across a range of projects, ensuring technical excellence and seamless coordination between consultants, subcontractors, and the construction team.
Projects typically range from £5m to £50m, covering sectors such as Residential and commercial.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
*
Liaise with external consultants (architects, engineers, etc.) to ensure coordinated and buildable designs
*
Coordinate technical information across disciplines, identifying and resolving design clashes or discrepancies
*
Manage and track the flow of design information and ensure it meets programme deadlines
*
Work closely with internal teams (project managers, estimators, site managers) to support construction planning
*
Ensure compliance with current building regulations, planning conditions, and health & safety requirements
*
Support with design-related RFIs, change requests, and value engineering opportunities
*
Attend design meetings and contribute to design workshops and reviews
*
Support with the preparation of technical submissions and approvals
Key Requirements
*
Proven experience working in a Design Coordinator role, ideally with a main contractor.
*
Good understanding of construction methods, building regulations, and design processes
*
Strong technical knowledge
*
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents
*
Confident communicator, able to manage external consultants and liaise with internal teams effectively
*
Proficiency in design software/tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Viewpoint/Fieldview, Aconex, etc.) is advantageous
*
Degree qualified in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or similar (preferred but not essential)
