We are looking for a thoughtful, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the Integrated Community Services Team in Scarborough. The role suits newly qualified Physiotherapists or those wishing to gain community experience.
The Community Physiotherapist will work with the Therapy Team, assessing and treating patients referred by all our health and social care stakeholders. You will provide specialised physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to an independent caseload, working closely with colleagues in a multidisciplinary team and supported by senior Physiotherapists.
This post may develop into a rotational post across Humber Community Services and requires a car and UK driving licence.
Main duties of the job
* Perform comprehensive physiotherapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment.
* Formulate and deliver specialist individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on evidence based practice.
* Formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention.
* Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required.
* Provide line management, supervision, support, guidance and training to junior staff and students.
Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy (or in final year of programme).
* Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registration if qualified.
* Evidence of relevant CPD (short courses or post graduate study).
* Completion of a Physiotherapy preceptorship.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of the specific service area, team and role, evidenced in supporting application material.
* Experience of Community Physiotherapy in prior NHS employment or student placement.
* Experience managing a caseload of patients, including triage and prioritisation of referrals and daily work.
* Evidence of efficient transportation of self and equipment to/from multiple venues across a large geographical area during each shift in the UK.
* Adequate IT skills required to utilise electronic patient records, electronic communications, clinical stock ordering system and Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to manage daily operations and maintain a safe working environment.
* Experience using SystmOne.
