Overview
Animal Care Technician role at Pembrokeshire College in Withybush. Manage daily animal care, feed, clean and maintain the Animal Care Unit. The position is part‑time with an average of 24 hours per week, covering weekday and weekend shifts, including bank holidays and the Christmas period.
Schedule: Week 1 – 20 hrs: Wed 9:00–15:30, Thu 8:30–16:00, Fri 8:30–16:00. Week 2 – 28 hrs: Wed 9:00–15:30, Thu 8:30–16:00, Fri 8:30–16:00, Sat 08:30–12:30, Sun 08:30–12:30.
Responsibilities
* Open and close the Animal Care Unit.
* Feed, clean and care for small animals.
* Provide weekday and weekend cover, including short‑notice cover.
* Support lecturers with practical teaching activities, ensuring safe working practice.
* Make arrangements to attend the College premises on short notice.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in an animal or land‑based discipline.
* Experience of animal husbandry, particularly in the care of small animals.
* Valid First Aid Certificate (college will support attainment if not held).
* Experience working independently and demonstrating flexibility and confidence.
