Our client is looking for a mechanical fitter/engineer to join their team to help build and assemble complex scientific instruments in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for a current fitter/engineer/apprentice that is looking to join a world-leading instrument manufacturer in a competitive and impactful sector. As a Mechanical Fitter you will verify parts and assemble science instrumentation to drawing standards, combining components to construct complex sub-assemblies. The ability to assemble intricate parts to fine tolerances is a key attribute to this role – during the course of your work you will also be encouraged to identify potential engineering improvements as well as monitoring for non-compliance. An engineering background e.g. an apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent in either mechanical or electrical engineering is essential. Excellent team and communication skills are a must. A background in precision engineering from the automotive, aerospace, medical device or scientific instrument industry would be beneficial; as would cleanroom experience.
