We are delighted to offer an experienced Finance professional the opportunity to oversee financial reporting submissions, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and lead a small team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing two business units, internal IT recharges across the Group, and balance sheet reconciliations.

As a Senior Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing and submitting monthly reports and associated schedules for the APPS business unit.
2. Reviewing and submitting monthly reports and associated schedules for the Renewables business unit.
3. Overseeing and reviewing monthly IT internal recharges.
4. Managing and controlling monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Submitting figures in the consolidation pack
6. Controlling month-end journal postings, including WIP, prepayments, accruals, and holiday provisions for business units.
7. Ensuring DAS and REN projects and WIP comply with accounting standards related to revenue recognition.
8. Reconciling monthly management accounts.
9. Producing monthly management analytic reports.
10. Managing half-year reviews and year-end statutory audits for the relevant business units.
11. Preparing annual budgets in collaboration with Business Unit Directors for the relevant business units.
12. Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and internal controls.
13. Supervising, managing, and mentoring two team members.
14. Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance Director and CFO.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity we would expect candidates to be able to demonstrate the below skills and experience:

15. Fully qualified or in the final stages of qualification as an Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
16. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a project-driven accounting environment (, T&M, FP, hardware/software sales).
17. Familiarity with Sage 50 is advantageous but not essential.
18. Strong and effective communication skills.
19. Adaptability and comfort in dynamic, changing environments.
20. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
21. Solid IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
22. High attention to detail and accuracy.
23. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and forward-thinking abilities.
24. Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a finance team.
