Graduate Teaching Assistant – Sunderland

If you’re a recent graduate looking for hands-on school experience, this Graduate Teaching Assistant role in Sunderland could be an ideal first step into education. You don’t need classroom experience, just confidence, patience and a willingness to support young learners.

What you’ll be doing as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

You’ll work alongside teachers to support learning in the classroom, help pupils stay focused and guide small groups or individuals who need a little extra help. This role is perfect for graduates considering teaching, psychology, social work or youth support.

Your responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

1. Supporting pupils during lessons and independent work
2. Helping teachers with classroom organisation and routines
3. Building positive relationships with students
4. Encouraging engagement and good behaviour
5. Providing 1:1 support when needed

What you’ll bring as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

6. A degree in any subject
7. Strong communication and teamwork
8. A calm, supportive attitude
9. An interest in education or youth development
10. An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
