We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist provision in Liverpool, working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people who need encouragement, structure, and consistent support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom
* Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help regulate behaviour and encourage engagement
* Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering a tailored, inclusive curriculum
* Promoting a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
* Encouraging emotional development, resilience, and personal growth
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour essential
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
* Knowledge of trauma-informed or nurture-based practices highly advantageous
* A flexible, team-oriented mindset
