Offer description

Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. It is not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it is whatâs behind every job here. Our work keeps Scotlandâs water flowing, from reservoir to tap â and from sewer to treatment plant. Do your bit by joining our Customer Service Delivery (CSD) commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor. ⯠What youâll do⯠As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support commercial management in respect to financial, commercial, and contractual matters. This will include assisting in the analysis and production of commercial information and assessment of monthly applications in accordance with Delivery Partner Agreements. All in compliance with Scottish Water Commercial Procedures, practices, and policies. In addition, you will be required to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.⯠What youâll bring You will need to be qualified or working towards gaining your Quantity Surveying qualification. Experience of assisting in projects using standard construction contract forms - particularly NEC3 and NEC4 - is desirable, as is the ability to work confidently with numbers and manage information effectively. Strong communication skills are also a must, enabling you to collaborate effectively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders at all levels. Experience of working within an alliance or partnering arrangement will be highly valuable, as will a collaborative approach to achieving shared goals. A full driving license is also required. Looking out for youâ¯â¯ While the work we do is important, we know itâs not the only thing that matters. Thatâs why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.â¯â¯ Youâll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.â¯â¯ When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.â¯â¯â¯ For your future, thereâs our pension (the âknow-what-youâll-get-when-you-retireâ kind), as well as life assurance.â¯â¯â¯ As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash â handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.â¯â¯ The not-so-small print â¯â¯ This role will be a Grade 6. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £36,410. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £46,990. If youâre interested in this role â or know someone else who might be - weâll be accepting applications until midnight on 1st April 2026. We operate Balanced Hybrid working at Scottish Water and we encourage people to work half their time in a Scottish Water location.  Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. Screening is conducted on our behalf by a third party, and must be completed before your start date. Donât worry - weâll only start these checks once youâve accepted an offer. ⯠ A few final things worth knowing⦠ Research shows that some people avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single criteria. If youâre interested in this job, but donât tick all the boxes, apply anyway! We hardly ever hire people who can do every part of a job from Day One. Everyone has a learning curve. So donât rule yourself out!  Let us know if there are any changes we can make to our recruitment process to help you perform at your best. Lots of our people have disabilities or neurodiverse conditions (including some of our recruiters!). We're also aware that some people might be experiencing temporary challenges because of life events, like menopause. Weâre very used to making adjustments, so please donât be afraid to ask.  As part of our commitment to developing a flourishing Scotland, itâs important that all our employees are Scottish taxpayers. If you join us, your home address will need to be in Scotland. If you donât already live here, you'll need to commit to moving here within your first three months. Please note, Scottish Water takes the safety, health and wellbeing of our employees, colleagues and customers very seriously and as such you may be subject to Drug & Alcohol testing in line with our policy. Finally (finally!), candidates who havenât submitted an application in the last 12 months will have their records removed from our recruitment database. You wonât need to do anything. Your data will be automatically deleted. Weâre here to help. Ask us anything a t SWRecruitment@ScottishWater.co.uk Â
