The Pit Orchestra is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to promote the performance of their original score accompanying a screening of Eisenstein’s 1925 film Battleship Potemkin in December 2025.

Overview
December 2025 marks the centenary of the release of Battleship Potemkin, Eisenstein's most renowned film. The Pit Orchestra was commissioned to compose a score for this film in 2017 and is now revisiting that score for 2025. This project is funded by Arts Council England.
Starting in September 2025, the primary aims of this marketing role are to:
1. Bring diverse audiences to the performance and generate buzz around the event.
2. Secure national media coverage for both the event and TPO’s decade of work with amateur and non-professional musicians.
3. Enhance TPO's online presence.
Key Dates
* Application deadline: 30th June 2025
* Shortlisted applicant interviews: Early July 2025
* Role selection: Mid July 2025
Fee
The fee for this role is £1,200, payable via monthly invoices, based on approximately £200 per day for 6 days across 12 weeks. Flexibility in work hours is expected, with periods of less than or more than 0.5 days per week, depending on the marketing strategy and personal schedule. The fee includes:
* Development and delivery of a marketing plan to raise TPO’s profile and generate excitement.
* Travel expenses incurred during work.
* Occasional attendance at meetings with project producers.
* Advice on TPO’s social media schedule.
* Notation of score and commission of visual score (until end of July 2025).
* Performance in early December 2025.
Job Requirements
You will need to:
* Work independently and collaboratively with TPO members as needed.
* Attend online meetings or travel to Plymouth occasionally.
* Demonstrate relevant experience or transferable skills.
* Leverage existing press contacts or develop new ones to increase TPO’s visibility nationwide.
* Experience with social media scheduling.
* Create engaging content that tells a story and extends TPO’s reach.
* Have a personal laptop and workspace.
* Manage your own tax and NI contributions.
