Description
We are currently looking to recruit a PIV Engineer to support in the operation, maintenance, and continuous development of our Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) systems.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain experience in a high-performance engineering environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will develop the skills and knowledge required to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality aerodynamic test data and maximum system uptime.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the day to day operation of the Wind Tunnel and PIV Systems, including PIV output consultancy for Aero, map generation, calibrations, quality control and systems trouble shooting.
* Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) data collection & processing and providing operational support for the Wind Tunnel systems.
* Carry out continuous system development to meet the needs of the Aero department and the maximum uptime ethos.
* Complete regular hardware maintenance and the maintenance of processes and procedures.
* Maintain and develop working knowledge and skill levels of wind tunnel testing to industry standard.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Strong academic background with an appropriate engineering degree, ideally at master's or PhD level.
* Previous experience of wind tunnel testing in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport environment is preferred.
* Experience of PIV is preferred.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Possess a calm and considered approach to problem solving.
* Ability to integrate into engineering teams and establish excellent working relationships with colleagues.
* Be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
* Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.
