Accompanying pupils on educational visits and other extra-curricular activities, including swimming and independence skills training programmes Working with teachers, speech and language therapists and other specialist staff to assist in delivering agreed programmes To meet the care needs of identified pupils who might need extra support with dressing, toileting or similar Learning classroom-based skills and behaviour techniques Planning and delivering learning activities. Giving relevant feedback to the teacher regarding the educational, emotional and physical needs of pupils in order to offer the teacher support in their assessment Working alongside the teacher and other support staff to support classroom activities Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure environment for pupils within and outside the classroom and to act in accordance with the school and Trust policies and procedures To provide clerical and administrative support e.g. photocopying, making resources Essential Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Maths at grades 4–9 (A*–C) desirable Skills and Personal Qualities: Patience, sensitivity, and a calm, caring nature Enthusiastic about supporting children's learning and development Flexible, adaptable, and a team player Strong verbal communication skills Good active listening and interpersonal skills Ability to follow instructions and use initiative Confident using basic IT systems or handheld devices Interest in education and understanding people’s behaviours and needs What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end? The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification. Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary. What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
