Salary £43,500 + London Weighting £6,200 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Full time 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday 8am-4.30pm
As a Deputy FM Manager in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day delivery of maintenance operations, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high‑performing environment that supports critical public services.
In this role, your work has real purpose – helping to maintain a secure and reliable facility that supports rehabilitation and protects communities. You’ll play a key part in creating impactful solutions, ensuring operations run smoothly while fostering a culture of trust, care, and continuous improvement.
You’ll Be Entrusted To
What you’ll do as a Deputy FM Manager
* Support the planning and delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual requirements
* Allocate and manage daily maintenance activities, prioritising safety, compliance, and operational needs
* Monitor work progress and team productivity, providing challenge and assurance to maintain high standards
* Oversee contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to agreed quality standards
* Ensure tools, equipment, and activities are risk assessed, compliant, and aligned with safe working practices
* Deputise for the Facilities Manager when required, supporting operational decision-making and team leadership
Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
* A recognised mechanical qualification such as City and Guilds in plumbing, heating, air conditioning, gas or similar
* Experience managing HVAC systems and working with building management systems such as Trend or Honeywell
* Proven experience leading and motivating diverse teams of skilled and semi-skilled colleagues
* Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, fault finding, and delivering quality outcomes in a fast‑paced environment
* A proactive approach to problem solving, with the confidence to make decisions and drive continuous improvement
Vetting And Checks
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. Depending on the nature of the role, you may also need to obtain formal Security Clearance such as CTC or SC, which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
