The service is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist with forensic psychiatry experience to work within the low‑secure male mental illness inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient community service in York. The position is part‑time and offers flexible working arrangements.
About the role
The post combines direct clinical care and supporting professional activities. The final program of activities will be worked out with the post holder on a ratio of 7.5 hours of direct clinical care to 2.5 hours of supporting professional activities.
Key responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality patient care in a low‑secure forensic setting.
* Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans for offenders with mental illness.
* Support multidisciplinary team activities and rehabilitation programmes.
* Participate in case management and risk assessment services.
* Maintain professional development and deliver academic teaching sessions.
Qualifications & experience
* Consultant psychiatrist with forensic psychiatry experience.
* Board‑certified or equivalent qualification.
* Strong clinical and clinical governance skills.
* Willingness to work in a low‑secure gender‑specific setting.
