Overview
Family & Systemic Therapist - North and South Oxford CAMHS. 1 year fixed term contract. Hybrid working model with face-to-face and remote work across Oxfordshire (Oxford City, Abingdon, Banbury). The team focuses on young people and their families who require assessment and treatment from the Getting Help and Getting More help teams.
The post is within the Oxfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services teams, with a mix of mental health professionals and an admin team, supported by supervision and peer support.
Responsibilities
* Offer mental health assessment to young people open to CAMHS.
* Hold a caseload of families who require a systemic approach.
* Actively support the family therapy clinic, with a reflecting team.
* Provide specialist family therapy advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing to clients\' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plans.
* Plan and implement family therapy treatment or management of a client\'s mental health problems using evidence-based practice.
* Evaluate and decide on treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models and historical/developmental factors shaping the family.
The team works closely with current Multi-Disciplinary Teams (psychiatry, psychology, psychotherapy, social work, mental health nursing, occupational therapy) and is supported by an admin team.
Qualifications
* Essential: Postgraduate qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy; Registration as a systemic psychotherapist with UKCP or equivalent body.
* Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field of mental health or social welfare (or established equivalence according to AFT criteria).
Experience and Knowledge
* Essential: Experience of assessment/intervention with children, young people and families in a mental health or equivalent setting.
* Desirable: Experience of running/co-running groups; experience with other treatment options.
* Essential: Specialist knowledge and application of family therapy assessment, interventions and process relevant to the client group; knowledge of evidence base in relation to child mental health; knowledge and application of standardised assessments and outcome measures.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks apply. UK registration and sponsorship considerations may apply as per NHS policy. Employment is on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. Band 7.
