Senior Systems Analyst – £46,087 - £51,208 (depending on experience)
Overview
Home based with occasional travel to Midlands offices as required. We’re looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to be the key technical expert within our Application Support team, responsible for delivering high-quality support for business‑critical application environments, upgrades, patch management and integration support.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a technical lead and escalation point for supported solutions, ensuring reliability, security and performance of applications, leading on troubleshooting, incident resolution and continuous service improvement.
* Provide guidance and mentoring to Application Support analysts, apprentices and colleagues, sharing technical expertise and promoting knowledge transfer.
* Deliver advanced technical support for business applications, ensuring timely and effective resolution of incidents and service requests.
* Lead on troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.
* Communicate effectively with the Applications Support Manager, Service Desk, infrastructure and delivery teams to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
* Liaise with vendors and third‑party suppliers for technical support and issue resolution, escalating to the ASM as required.
* Identify, recommend and implement improvements to support processes, tools and user experience.
* Work to ITIL‑aligned processes and champion a culture of continuous service improvement.
* Support out‑of‑hours maintenance where required (planned and occasional).
Required Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role within housing, supporting enterprise applications, housing management systems and associated applications.
* Familiarity with SQL, data queries, Progress, API integrations and/or ETL tools.
* Strong problem‑solving skills, especially in incident management and service restoration.
* Experience working with business applications in a production environment.
* Ability to investigate issues across applications, integrations and data.
* Understanding of change control processes (e.g. Change Advisory Board participation).
* Confident communicator who can work with technical teams, business users and suppliers.
* Good understanding of ITIL practices (incident, request, escalation).
* Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in SharePoint, Flow, Teams, SQL Server, Azure, Dynamics 365 (CE or F&O), Power Platform, App Services, Storage, Integration.
* Knowledge of relational database concepts, system development lifecycle (SDLC), basic SQL Server administration and ERP systems.
* Experience supporting application upgrades, DR testing or early life support.
* Familiarity with service improvement initiatives and SLA‑driven environments.
* ITIL v4 Foundation (or working towards).
Location & Travel
The role is primarily home‑based, but requires occasional travel to Group offices and other locations, including Birmingham Business Park, Solihull and Central Park, Worcester.
