Job Description: To accomplish the strategic goals of UAB Medicine working as a professional within Callahan Eye. To influence the culture of excellence throughout the organization by engaging in education, quality, evidence-based practice, scholarly activities, regulatory affairs, and research. To positively impact and advance practice, quality metrics, and patient outcomes. To evaluate competency training and education needs for the organization. Program development as well as implementation and oversight for population-based programs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Advances practice and improves patient outcomes through innovative, evidence-based interventions, implementation of best practice guidelines and modifications of professional standards and organizational policies directing the care provided by healthcare providers. 2. Designs, implements and evaluates innovative individual and/or population-based programs and projects to achieve desired quality, evidence-based, cost-effective, and optimal patient outcomes. 3. Serves as a role model, facilitator, educator, researcher, collaborator, change agent and consultant to ensure quality programs in personal and professional growth of healthcare providers. 4. Provides leadership for organizational quality and safety improvement activities, metrics, and regulatory readiness. 5. Serves as a liaison between Health System/UAB Hospital/Callahan Eye to expand population-based initiatives to include development and implementation of courses and programs. 6. Oversees program development, including budget, future grant funds management, preparation of invoices, oversight of outside user fees, including collection and processing. 7. Participates in developing and presenting quality improvement initiatives for the Health System to address specific needs. 8. Disseminates information regarding activities both internally and externally. 9. Engages with community partners to expand Nursing (or other clinical area recruitment and training Initiatives. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 10 years of clinical experience required. Master’s degree in nursing with 5 years of clinical experience preferred. Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: Principles of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PACLs), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
