Herd Manager
240 cow, organic spring calving herd focussing on milk from grass. South Herefordshire
Our current Herd Manager is retiring from the role after 24 years with us, so we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced, hands-on Herd Manager for our organic dairy farm in beautiful south Herefordshire. The position will be available from January 2026.
We are an established, family run, multi-site business, encompassing 2 organic dairy herds totalling 420 cows plus youngstock rearing. 300 ha in total. Milk is supplied to Arla.
This position is for our 240-cow spring block herd on a 100 ha grazing platform with good infrastructure. Milking through a modern 20:40 herringbone parlour. Cubicle housed in winter.

About you
* Ø Genuine keen interest in achieving high standards in this style of business
* Ø Previous experience of grass based dairy production
* Ø Ability to work within a team and by yourself
* Ø Telehandler and ATV certification an advantage but not essential
* Ø Ability to keep records up to date
* Ø Ability to allocate grazing and use Agrinet
* Ø Keen to contribute to the success of the whole farm

This position would suit a herdsperson looking to take the next step or an experienced herd manager looking for a new challenge.
The management of the herd is supported by a very proficient herdsperson, who does afternoon milkings and provides relief and holiday cover.
