The role requires a flexible approach to workload, as priorities may change regularly. Supporting adherence to production plans, safety standards, and operational efficiency is central to this position. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect, maintain, and repair production equipment to ensure optimal performance. Manufacture mandrels (following training) to support UK and Indian production requirements. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), modifications, installations, and upgrades to plant machinery and site services. Work collaboratively with Operations, Technical, and Health & Safety teams to improve performance, efficiency, quality, and safety. Comply with all established operational, quality, and safety procedures and policies. Coordinate external contractors as required, ensuring all relevant safety documentation is received prior to site attendance (e.g., insurance, SSOW, training records). Undertake additional duties as required, including supporting production or warehouse operations during periods of low staffing. Perform welding activities where required. Results-oriented with a focus on meeting targets. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: GCSE Grade A–C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (minimum requirement). NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Proven maintenance experience with plant machinery and site services. Competent in fault diagnosis and repair of plant and equipment. Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. Basic MIG welding capability. Basic manual lathe operation skills. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Adherence to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule. Delivery against mandrel manufacturing plan. Achievement of high 6S scores within the working area.
