Location: Knighthead Performance Centre
Contract: Part-Time | Flexible Hours (Primarily Weekends and Midweek Fixtures)
Reports to: Local Emerging Talent Manager
To lead a team of Local Scouts within a designated area on behalf of the Academy Emerging Talent Department, supporting the identification and recruitment of emerging talent within a 90-minute radius of the Knighthead Performance Centre (B38 9EL).
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate Local Scouts within your designated zone, as allocated by the Local Emerging Talent Manager.
Manage weekly planning, communication, and reporting processes for Local Scouts in your area.
Conduct appraisals and provide regular feedback and support to Local Scouts.
Attend and scout grassroots and academy fixtures during weekends and selected midweek evenings.
Focus specifically on youth leagues and the Academy games programme, including the Youth Development Phase and Professional Development Phase.
Support the monitoring and assessment of Birmingham City loan players when required.
Work closely with the Local Emerging Talent Manager and Local Emerging Talent Coordinator to ensure a competitive and productive recruitment process in your region.
Conduct live and video-based scouting and submit detailed player reports via the relevant platforms.
Follow the Club’s Scouts Code of Conduct and ensure all work is in line with FA and EPPP regulations.
Actively recruit across all development phases, aligned to the Emerging Talent strategy, succession plans and positional needs.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with grassroots clubs, private coaching organisations, schools, districts, and counties.
Attend and report on academy fixtures, grassroots games, school matches, and coaching sessions.
Ensure all reporting documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Support Emerging Talent events, including Talent ID festivals, trials, and open days.
Attend monthly meetings with the Local Emerging Talent Manager to discuss department updates, strategy, and recruitment needs.
Undertake any other duties within the scope of the post, as requested by the Academy Technical Director, Local Emerging Talent Manager, or Lead Local Scout.

What we're looking for in you:
FA Safeguarding
Valid Driving Licence
High attention to detail and organisation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Leadership and team management experience
Understanding of EPPP and Foundation Phase development
Ability to contribute to internal and external networks
Experience in a Category One academy
