About The Role
Balfour Beatty is looking for an Senior Learning & Development Partner on a 12 month fixed term contract.
In this high‑impact role, you’ll partner with senior leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into innovative, meaningful learning solutions that enable performance, build future capability and strengthen the culture across the organisation.
The role is UK flexible and can be based from any of our hub office locations.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead the design and delivery of innovative learning solutions that respond to business needs and support strategic priorities.
* Partner with senior stakeholders to provide expert advice on leadership, talent and development interventions.
* Drive key L&D projects end‑to‑end—from initial scoping through to design, delivery and evaluation.
* Champion a culture of continuous learning, supporting leadership development, core management capability and high‑potential programmes.
* Embed Diversity & Inclusion principles into all learning solutions and development pathways.
* Produce and analyse learning data, reporting insights that drive decision‑making and measure impact.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal partners, external suppliers and learning bodies.
* Oversee programme budgets, ensuring cost‑effective delivery and identifying opportunities for efficiency and innovation.
* Support organisational performance, culture and engagement initiatives through targeted development activity.
* Act as an ambassador for best‑practice learning, role‑modelling professional standards and supporting knowledge‑sharing across the team.
Who we’re looking for
* Strong experience designing, delivering and evaluating blended learning solutions.
* Proven background in a complex L&D or organisational development environment.
* Skilled in stakeholder management, influencing and advising senior leaders.
* Experience facilitating diverse audiences both in‑person and virtually.
* Confident in analysing data to inform decisions and measure learning impact.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication, presentation and coaching skills.
* Knowledge of leadership development models, adult learning theory and instructional design.
* Comfortable navigating digital learning platforms, tools and technologies.
* Degree‑level education or equivalent experience (CIPD desirable).
