Hays are proud to be working with a locally-based government organisation in Manchester City Centre who are looking for an interim Finance Assistant on a contract.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:
1. Manage the Finance inboxes by responding to queries, processing invoices, and taking appropriate follow-up actions.
2. Conduct bank reconciliations and process cost transfers and banking journals in line with the scheduled timetable.
3. Oversee the Accounts Payable operations, including creating purchase requisitions and orders, logging invoices, managing approval workflows and payments, and ensuring goods are receipted accurately.
4. Prepare and execute supplier payment runs, including the preparation of journals and supporting documentation, while maintaining accurate supplier records and verifying bank account details.
5. Assisting the Management Accountant with month end duties.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have:
6. Proven experience in an purchase ledger role, preferably within the public or not for profit sector.
7. Previous experience assisting with month-end
8. Proficiency MS Office Suite.
9. Excellent written and verbalmunication
10. Good time management and organisational skills.
