Senior Freight Operations Coordinator
Location: Birmingham, Redditch
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
An established and growing freight forwarding business is seeking an experienced Senior Freight Operations Coordinator to join its operations team. This role would suit a strong all-round operator with a background in sea freight and a hands-on approach to managing complex shipments and key customer relationships.
Job Role:
* Manage sea freight import and export shipments end-to-end
* Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, hauliers, and internal teams
* Handle customs processes, documentation, and clearance coordination
* Finalise bookings, review costs, and ensure accurate invoicing
* Monitor charges such as demurrage and quay rent and resolve disputes
* Produce and check shipping documentation (HBLs / MBLs where required)
* Act as an escalation point for operational issues and delays
* Support service delivery on key or high-volume accounts
* Contribute to process improvements and operational best practice
Job Requirements:
1. Proven experience in freight forwarding operations (sea freight essential)
