Senior Mechanical Designer
Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology provides tools for the fabrication of nanometre‑sized structures, with customers ranging from world-renowned universities to blue‑chip manufacturing companies. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team in Bristol to lead and contribute to the development of complex mechanical systems for our plasma processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the mechanical design of sub‑assemblies and full systems from concept through to production.
* Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
* Perform mechanical calculations and simulations to validate designs.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems, electrical, and software engineering.
* Manage technical documentation and Bill of Materials (BOM).
* Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance on design best practices.
