HGV Class 1 Driver – West Bromwich
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress.
Shifts:
• 5 days out of 7 (weekends included)• Afternoon start times between 14:00 and 17:00
Rates of Pay:
• £17.20 per hour (basic rate)• £20.00 per hour after 20:00 (Monday - Saturday)• £22.00 per hour (Sunday)

Day-to-Day Duties:
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Completing store deliveries involving cage work• Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs• Assisting with loading and unloading when required• Delivering cages to distribution centres and supermarkets• Completing up to two drops per shift
Essential Skills:
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• Valid UK Category CE driving licence• Minimum of twelve months’ experience driving CE vehicles• Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card• No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes• Good level of spoken and written English• Excellent time-keeping and punctuality• Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations• Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
• Previous commercial driving experience• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training:
• Driver assessment must be completed prior to starting
