Shift Pattern: Evenings and Weekends (4‑9pm weekdays & 10:00am‑3:00pm Saturdays) – Part Time – 30hrs per week

Position Overview
Your work within Student Wellbeing will focus on partnering with students to identify barriers to learning and providing ongoing support. You will help students manage social and emotional issues, and enable staff to provide the best support to learners with wellbeing needs.
The Student Welfare Officer reports into the Student Welfare Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage student referrals, acting as a link between the Welfare Office, academic teams and internal/external services.
* Provide pastoral support to students with social or emotional issues and ensure learning accommodations are implemented.
* Maximise student attendance by collaborating with student engagement managers.
* Offer immediate assistance on a drop‑in and appointment basis.
* Maintain accurate, confidential student welfare records in line with GDPR.
* Assist with the organisation of health and wellbeing social activities and events for students.
Required Experience & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, preferably health related.
* Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within higher education.
* Knowledge of DDA, SENDA, JCQ and reasonable adjustments for students with learning differences.
* Experience working with a range of physical disabilities and specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome).
* Ability to select and use assessment materials, analyse results, and make recommendations.
* Excellent communication skills, able to discuss students’ needs sensitively and plan additional support programmes.
