Visiting Lecturer Worker Contract – hourly rate basis
We are currently looking to expand our bank of Visiting Lecturers to join our academic team located at our centrally located Bristol campus.
As a Visiting Lecturer you will work for the University of Law at our Bristol Campus on a worker contract. You will report to our Bristol Academic Managers and provide tuition across the University of Law course portfolio, including the BPC, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters in Law courses, and/or other University courses to the best possible standard.
This position suits individuals who wish to engage in academia alongside other professional or personal commitments, offering flexible scheduling and limited contact hours. You will enjoy being challenged by students and course content, and have the opportunity to adapt to different learning styles and methods of delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise; the role includes marking in‑course assignments and final assessments, as well as supporting students and dealing with queries.
Responsibilities
 * Teach and assess across University of Law courses such as BPC, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters courses, and other University courses. This includes delivering written and presentation skills training and giving individual feedback on students’ performance.
Qualifications
 * A qualified Solicitor and/or Barrister with practice experience.
 * Organised and able to prioritise own workload.
 * Confident and articulate presentation skills.
 * Punctual, with good time management and prioritisation of workload.
 * Ability to work independently for short periods and as part of a team, recognising when advice/input is required.
