Senior Contracts Manager
Listed Building Renovations
Location: The Cotswolds
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience
Join a prestigious building contractor in a critical leadership role that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern construction management. We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to oversee renovation projects on Listed and Heritage Buildings in The Cotswolds. This position is primarily office-based with regular site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the contractual management of multiple renovation projects, ensuring all contractual terms are met and projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
* Develop and implement strategies for the effective management of project contracts, from initiation through to completion, including extensions and renewals.
* Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with clients and subcontractors, ensuring comprehensive compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
* Lead project planning, including resource allocation, timeline scheduling, and risk management, to ensure efficient project execution.
* Maintain continuous communication with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and project teams, to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly.
* Provide expert advice on contractual claims, manage disputes, and ensure the resolution of conflicts.
* Supervise and mentor contracts and project management teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
* Prepare and present detailed reports on the status of contracts, including progress, risks, and potential areas of improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction industry, with a strong background in managing listed or heritage building renovations and high-end new developments.
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., MRICS) preferred.
* Excellent leadership and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex contractual and management issues.
* Deep understanding of construction law, contract drafting, and specifications, combined with a solid knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and other relevant technology tools.
