Be among the first 25 applicants. We are recruiting Additional Learning Support Officers to join our Centre of Excellence SEND (Full‑time or part‑time contracts available). Salary: £24,484 – £25,674 per annum, pro‑rata dependent on contract type FTE.
The Role
* Provide one‑to‑one support to students with additional learning needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties or special educational needs.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching materials as necessary.
* Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment and assistive technology.
* Administer medication and carry out routines and techniques appropriate to the individual’s stated needs.
* Promote inclusive learning experiences throughout the College.
* Develop ways of assisting students to communicate effectively and appropriately so that their views are understood.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Additional Learning Support to students with SEND across the whole range of college provision, including work placements, enrichment activities and external visits.
* Assistance with the preparation of materials, equipment and assistive technology.
* Support students’ wellbeing, welfare and social well‑being during College time.
* Facilitate access to facilities within the College, work placements and external visits.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in a similar role or in a relevant educational or caring setting (advantageous but not essential).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and adapt communication styles to individual needs.
* A demonstrated commitment to the active promotion of equality of opportunity.
* A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths (minimum grade 4/C at GCSE).
