Adult Psychiatrist (Autism) - Independent Clinician Network
We are seeking dedicated Adult Psychiatrists who share our core values of commitment, trust, integrity, and kindness to join our growing team in Canterbury.
About The Role
* Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools to evaluate patients undergoing autism assessments.
* Observe patients during sessions and ensure questions are asked in a thorough but compassionate manner.
* Review reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home and observer in the same session.
* Formulate a diagnosis, conclude the assessment, and provide feedback to the family in a kind, age‑appropriate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local/national resources.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) when further information is required and offer a separate follow‑up session to conclude the diagnosis if needed.
* Produce high‑quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post‑assessment, adhering to relevant criteria and report templates.
* Request onward referrals as clinically necessary in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
What We’re Looking For
* GMC‑registered doctor with a valid licence to practice.
* CCT in Adult Psychiatry preferred but not essential.
* Expertise and confidence in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments for adults.
* Up‑to‑date with revalidation and appraisal processes.
