Job Introduction
We have an exciting new opportunity at Gleeson for a Regional SHE Manager. This role is ideal for Health & Safety professionals passionate about providing guidance and collaborating with regional teams.
The purpose of this role is to manage, govern, and assess all Health & Safety and environmental aspects within operating practices to ensure compliance with statutory obligations across Gleeson and its operating businesses and employees.
You will be based between our Greater Manchester & Merseyside region and our Cumbria region.

As a Regional SHE Manager, you will:
1. Provide advice and guidance to regional management on SHE matters, implementing control measures that support the HomeSafe culture and ensure compliance with policies, processes, and stakeholder impacts.
2. Review, monitor, and advise on the effectiveness of SHE policies, procedures, risk management, and governance, ensuring implementation by regional management.
3. Work with the Build Administrator and Learning & Development team to promote mandatory SHE training, reviewing the SHE training matrix regularly and reporting findings in SHE meetings and status reports.
4. Ensure SHE inspections are conducted to assess compliance with standards and policies, managing remediation actions and communications to address risks.
5. Lead the investigation and reporting of regional SHE incidents, ensuring prompt action, lessons learned, and closure of all actions.
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a relevant SHE qualification and has SHE experience in residential house building.
* Proven ability to develop relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience in implementing policies, procedures, and systems to foster positive cultural change.
* Track record of establishing a health and safety culture in complex, multi-site organizations.
* In-depth knowledge of H&S legislation, best practices, and construction processes.
* Effective influencing skills, excellent communication, planning, and decision-making abilities.
* Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
