Citadel Source is delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a fast-paced and growing manufacturing business in Bristol in the recruitment of a Senior Management Accountant, a role that will take ownership of the month end process and work to improve processes and controls throughout the finance function.
The role
The Senior Management Accountant, reporting to the FC, will be responsible for managing the month end process, delivering comprehensive KPI reporting and in-depth P&L analysis. You will take a fresh look at processes across the finance function, identifying core inefficiencies and implementing necessary improvements to streamline these processes. There is a huge amount of opportunity to take ownership and be impactful, with a view towards a bigger seat in the future.
About you
This opportunity will suit a qualified accountant with experience in a manufacturing/production environment, who can demonstrate process/controls improvements in a similar environment. The successful candidate will have an analytical mindset and advanced excel skills, with any PowerBI knowledge/experience being desirable.
As a Senior Management Accountant, your role will include but not be limited to:
* Lead the month end process and manage the Management Accountant, ensuring deadlines are met
* Identify process inefficiencies throughout the finance function and implement suitable improvements
* Prepare the budgeting and forecasting for the site, utilising historical data, market trends and business goals
* Produce detailed variance analysis on actual cost, labour and production efficiency, identifying risks and opportunities
* Assess product profitability and advise on pricing and cost allocation
* Provide financial insights for strategic decisions, such as new product launches, investments, or expansion projects
* Prepare detailed reports for the SLT, focusing on key metrics and operational performance
* Model various financial outcomes based on business variables such as changes to raw material cost or production volumes
* Partner with the production teams to enhance process efficiencies
* Monitor, manage and update the weekly cash flow forecast
What the client has to offer
* A salary of up to £65,000
* Hybrid working, ideally 3 days a week onsite in Bristol
