Job Title: Children's Support Worker

Salary: £31,279 - £33,705 (sleep allowance included)
Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join a well-rated children’s residential service in Stevenage as a Children's Support Worker. This role involves supporting young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities:
* Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
* Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
* Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
* Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
* Support young people in promoting their independence and overall well-being.
* Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and communication preferences.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives.
Requirements:
* Experience as a Children’s Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
* Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
* Must hold a full UK manual driver’s licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
* Must be over 21 years of age.
* Ability to commute to Letchworth, Hertfordshire.
* Passionate about supporting young people aged 8 to 18 with EBD and eager to develop a career in health and social care.
