Position: Resident Doctor – Oncology (Outpatients & Ward) Location: Birmingham, The Harborne Hospital, (part of HCA Healthcare UK) Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (24 hours per week) Salary: £65,000 - £73,092 (DOE) with opportunities for additional paid Bank shifts. As part of our team of Resident Doctors, this position focuses on general wards and day-case areas, working in partnership with highly specialist Nurses and acting on Consultant-led decisions. While we are a Consultant Led Service, we believe in empowering our Resident Doctors, so your role could become expand as much as you wish. You’ll have the chance to be involved in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives alongside the opportunity to join a variety of internal networks. This could be to help steer the services you deliver, speaking up or patient satisfaction focus groups, clinical governance or MDT meetings. Giving you an opportunity to network with your peers, share best practice and expand your knowledge in an unrivalled setting. About the Role: As part of our team of Resident Doctors Oncology, this position focuses on general wards and day-case areas, working in partnership with highly specialist Nurses and acting on Consultant-led decisions. Your day-to-day duties will include: Pre- and post-operative treatments and clinical assessments Participating in ward rounds and clerking admissions Reviewing discharges and assessing referrals What You’ll Bring Full GMC registration and completion of Foundation training Minimum Training of: ST2/IMT2 level (or equivalent experience) At least 2 years’ Oncology Ideally, post-qualification exams such as MRCP A passion for patient-centred care and collaborative teamwork Why HCA UK? As a Resident Doctor Oncology you’ll be eligible for: For 40 hours full time contracts, 264 hours holiday each year (inclusive of bank holidays) increasing with service, with option to buy or sell leave to suit you. This is pro-rata for part time contracts.
