We've got an exciting opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or a graduate looking to start a career in finance and wanting to complete a professional accounting qualification.
Our Finance Analysts work across both the Business Partnering Team, working with our Retail, Commercial, Supply Chain, Customer and IT teams to support decision making and our Financial Planning and Analysis team who are responsible for our internal financial reporting, financial planning, and sustainability reporting.
You will look to grow and develop into a Finance career with Greggs carrying a spirit of continuous improvement whilst pursuing financial professional qualifications. You will also gain both knowledge and experience across the Finance function over the coming years as a solid platform to build a successful career.
It is an exciting time for us, both as a business as we grow by expanding our estate, developing evening trade, expanding delivery reach, and increasing engagement with the Greggs App, but also as a Finance team following our implementation of Microsoft Power Business Intelligence and as we look to upgrade our SAP ERP system. Greggs have been highly successful following the adoption of our food-on-the-go strategy and we’re a much-loved brand across the UK. About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
18. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
19. The base location for this role is Greggs House, Newcastle upon Tyne. Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area
What you'll do
Your roles and responsibilities will vary depending on the area of the finance team you join but data analysis and financial reporting will be a common theme across all areas.
After your initial placement there will be the opportunity to develop skills in the other areas within the Finance teams.
20. Retail: retail operations performance and profitability
21. Supply Chain: manufacturing & distribution sites performance
22. Commercial: product / category margins, franchise / wholesale
23. Marketing & IT: Campaign effectiveness and emerging technology
24. FP&A: internal finance reporting, sustainability support & financial planning
25. Accounting: monthly accounting support
About you
You’ll fit right into Greggs as a Finance Analyst if:
26. You are already a part-qualified accountant or a graduate looking to start a career in finance and wanting to complete a professional accounting qualification.
27. You are analytical and inquisitive in nature with a high level of numeracy and attention to detail.
28. You are strongly IT-literate with advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate data. Some knowledge of SAP and business intelligence software would be advantageous.
29. You have an ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
30. You are self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
31. You are organised and able to prioritise and manage your own workload.
32. You are a good communicator with the ability to develop strong working relationships.
33. You have a sound level of commercial awareness. Work experience in a retail, manufacturing or logistics environment would be beneficial.
34. Your first role will be within our FP&A team partnering our Sustainability team, so experience of this would be advantageous.
