We are seeking a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologists to take the role of EPAU Lead / Gynae Assessment Unit Lead
We seek a dynamic, charismatic, and energetic individual to join our team and to take the departmental lead.
The post holder will participate fully in all teaching and clinical governance activities and contributing to the provision of leadership in audit and guideline development. They will assist the local PROMPT training delivery alongside the Practice Development Team.
The role attract 10PAs and the successful applicant will participate in a 1:8 weekday nights on-call rota and a 1:8 weekend rota out of hours (non-resident). There is an extended consultant labour ward presence from 08.30 to 21.00.

Main duties of the job
The consultant will be working alongside the current High-Risk Pregnancy / Labour Ward Lead and their team. The hospital currently offers an Obstetric Diabetes clinic, a Medical Obstetric clinic, a Multiple Pregnancy / Twins clinic, Pre-Term Prevention Clinic, and a Fetal Medicine scan clinic. Previous experience or understanding of key transformation initiatives, which complement their clinical practice such as Continuity of Carer or aspects of Saving Babies Lives would be an asset.
The successful candidate will also provide Leadership to support the writing and audit of Guidelines for the new Early Pregnancy and Gynae Assessment Unit, working closely with all members of the multi-professional review team, and parents to ensure a robust review of mortality and learning from reviews.
A previous experience and understanding of Perinatal Mortality review and clinical investigations would be advantageous, as would the ability/interest in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies.

Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
* Fully trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
* Clinical Knowledge and Expertise: Appropriateknowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems demonstrates clear, logical thinking/analytical approach understands evidence-based practice
* ATSM in Out Patient Hysteroscopy
* ATSM in EPAU management
* IT Skills, ability to use web browser, excel, word etc
* Willingness to develop skills and experience in areas of interest.
* Evidence of regularly undertaking audits and management of change in line with the audit recommendations
Desirable
* Evidence of clinical or research commitment and a relevant specialty interest.
* Ability to perform/ interest in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies
Qualification and Professional Training
Essential
* MBBS or Equivalent
* Full GMC Registration, with licence to practice
* MRCOG or Equivalent
* Membership of relevant Specialist Societies or Associations eg BSCCP
* Specialist Register status / CCT within 6 months
Desirable
* Higher degree e.g., MSc, MD or equivalent
