Highly Specialist Pharmacist- Medicines Safety and Risk

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Team to provide specialist medicines related to risk and medicines safety.
This Senior Clinical Pharmacist will work as the Trust Medicines Safety Officer and act as an expert and advisor to colleagues across the Trust in relation to the risks associated with medication.
You will be a team player with a flair for communication, you will have good problem solving skills and an approachable, supportive nature. You will be required to work in a pressurised environment and will be expected to manage your own workload and timetable effectively. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your own skills as an expert within the Pharmacy Team.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and skilled clinical pharmacist, with a keen interest in reducing risk associated with medicines use to further enhance our service.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will:
* Act as the Trust co-ordinating Pharmacist for Risk Management.
* Oversee the investigation of medicines related incidents or complaints and explore and implement ways of minimising the risk of future reoccurrence of risk to staff and patients.
* Work with other Senior Pharmacists to ensure that the whole team delivers a consistent level of pharmaceutical care by all members of the wider Pharmacy Team.
* Participate in relevant local, regional and national networks ensuring the communication of information and shared learning of patient safety incidents.
* Review maintain and update the departmental Risk Register
* Coordinate the review of medicines related clinical incidents
* To participate in relevant Trust meetings eg Medicines Safety Group and Pharmacy Governance.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
* Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
* Pre-registration training and experience
* Membership of The General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Diploma in clinical pharmacy.
* Good all round clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills.
* Registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber
* Evidence of further education/training in clinical pharmacy practice
* Membership of The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Experience
* Experience of risk management including risk assessments
* Experience of assessing and minimising risk associated with service provision and medicines management
* Experience of root cause analysis
* Experience of appraisal and objective setting
* Evidence of successful multi-disciplinary working
Knowledge
* Advanced clinical knowledge of the pharmaceutical care of patients
* Good all round clinical knowledge and ability to use research findings to develop clinical services / patient care.
* Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development / education
* Awareness of influencers published Nationally around clinical pharmacy services
