Overview
We’re hiring a Principal Waste Consultant to join a leading organisation in the nuclear sector. This is a key role supporting nuclear decommissioning and strategic waste management, based in Warrington with flexible hybrid working options.
The Role
As a Principal Waste Consultant, you’ll lead high-impact technical projects that contribute to the UK’s nuclear future. You’ll manage teams, guide technical delivery, and engage with stakeholders to provide safe, innovative, and high-quality waste management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist advice and lead delivery across nuclear waste and decommissioning projects
* Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders
* Support strategic bids and contribute to business development
* Supervise and mentor technical staff, with line management responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with environmental permitting, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations
Essential Experience:
* Significant experience in nuclear waste management and strategic delivery
* Strong background in leading technical teams and mentoring staff
* Proven success in delivering decommissioning, disposability, or integrated waste strategy projects
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering discipline
* Candidates must be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance
