Overview

The Trauma Outpatients Department located within the James Cook University Hospital (and satellite clinics) serves patients attending for a range of Orthopaedic problems. You will see approximately 500 patients per week through a range of Orthopaedic Adult and Paediatric clinics. Satellite clinics are located at Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, Redcar Primary Care Hospital, East Cleveland Hospital.


Responsibilities

* Provide delivery of high‑quality specialist care through the Trauma Outpatients Service.
* Exercise an expert clinical and leadership function in the assessment of care needs for the Orthopaedic client group.
* Actively contribute to the multidisciplinary team by demonstrating essential specialist nursing skills to meet the needs of this client group.
* Develop, implement and evaluate care on the Department with support from the clinical matron and wider Senior Leadership Team, while delivering safe, evidence‑based nursing care and involving families and carers as partners in care.
* Promote the positive image of the clinical area and the Trust by being a role model, having a clear vision and using direct clinical leadership to ensure an excellent patient experience and operational excellence.
* Manage the Department budget in conjunction with the senior management team to ensure the best use of resources.
* Maintain STAQC accreditation through continuous weekly audit against the agreed standards.
