Job Description
As Assistant Finance Manager - Planning and Reporting within the Centre of Excellence, you will:
* Produce reporting for an area of the business, including weekly, periodic, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting as required. This includes financial and some non-financial reporting, with top-line commentary explaining key variances.
* Develop budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans in collaboration with budget holders to ensure accuracy.
* Manage a small team of Assistant Managers and Analysts to support the delivery of outputs.
* Collaborate with the BI team to migrate standard reports into a BI environment, increasing capacity for business reporting.
* Assist other business areas to reduce standard reporting burdens.
* Serve as a first-line business partner, balancing service, efficiency, and standardization.
* Ensure data and report accuracy through quality checks, validation, and data governance.
* Lead initial project justifications for capital expenditure.
* Support team development, promote career mobility, and foster a positive finance culture.
* Manage ad-hoc projects, analysis, and insights as needed.
This role interfaces across the Group, acting as the primary business partner for finance outputs, requiring a balance between customer service and efficiency, with sound judgment on service levels.
