Nurture & Wellbeing Teaching Assistant Supporting anxious and vulnerable learners in KS3 (ages 11-13) Barry, Vale of Glamorgan Starting 02/09/2024, or earlier if possible. Full Time, 32.5 hrs A unique and thriving ALN provision in Barry is looking for a new member of staff to join their expanding team. The provision operates within a Barry secondary school and is designed to support learners with a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Students accessing this base spent most or all their time learning within the provision, and benefit from a small but experienced team of Teaching Assistants who adapt and tailor the school day to their individual needs and goals. There is the opportunity to focus on your subject specialism/interest area whilst developing your experience supporting and facilitating learning, excellent for those planning a career in teaching, child/education psychology, or other education-related industries. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a calm and nurturing personality, an interest in supporting anxious and vulnerable learners, and the flexibility and drive to support pupils with an adapted KS3 curriculum lessons in a range of subject areas. This is an initial 1 term contract, with the view to continue for the full academic year for the successful candidate following this period. Welsh Language Skills would be preferable but are NOT essential for this position. Requirements - Degree-level education, or equivalent qualification - Enhanced Child Only DBS or be willing to process one. - EWC Registration or be willing to process one. - Experience and/or knowledge of working with children and young people (highly desirable).
