We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Intensive Service team in Swindon. This post has arisen due to the current incumbent relocating.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive group of consultants already practising in the locality. We are also recruiting into a Specialty Doctor post to support the Consultant in the team. The post holder is expected to work flexibly with a dynamic team while continuing to develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily 24‑hour rapid assessment and treatment for patients in crisis.
• Work with individuals to agree a plan of care and provide intensive treatment in the home to reduce distress and promote recovery.
• If a period of dedicated treatment in one of our specialist hospitals is deemed best, ensure smooth transfer to hospital and support the individual on return to home after discharge.
• Serve as the gatekeeping and discharging agent for inpatient services.
