An excellent development opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and suitably experienced Critical Care nurse interested in the continued development of the MetaVision EPR and the continued implementation of the Central EPR Oracle Cerner.
The post holder will be part of the Critical Care digital team who work on a series of projects which maintain and develop the MetaVision system alongside other digital initiatives impacting on the Critical Care areas.
The post holder will provide practical support to the clinical teams to take forward improvements and new ways of working to drive operational change and help realise the benefits available with the use of MetaVision.
The post holder will be expected to work across both campuses and act as the liaison point between operational, clinical management teams and the Critical Care Digital team. The post holder will be expected to work at least 7.5hrs of clinical time per week within the Critical Care units and must have relevant experience of a Critical Care environment.
Main duties of the job
Being primarily clinically based, the role will lead on the ongoing development and implementation of MetaVision. The post holder will be responsible for identifying and leading significant service and operational transformation, including standardisation of systems and processes, service transition and benefits realisation.
The role will be working across three directorates to ensure alignment of priorities and implement a standardised approach to the EPR. Improving patient safety, quality and patient experience is an explicit priority rather than an assumption and needs to underpin all elements of initiatives undertaken. The post holder will be integral in supporting all existing workstreams and the development/implementation of new workstreams.

The Critical Care digital team support seven clinical areas in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
1. Critical Care D floor at the Northern General Hospital (NGH).
2. Critical Care E floor at the Northern General Hospital (NGH).
3. Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
4. Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
5. Cardiac Recovery Unit.
6. Critical Care Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (CC RHH).
7. Neuro Critical Care Department (Neurosciences Royal Hallamshire Hospital).
Critical care is the care provided to patients who require intensive monitoring and / or the support of failing organs. We are delivering care to the highest standard and have a highly motivated MDT who continually strives to ensure our service meets the needs of our patients.
