Your new role
As Supply Chain Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring reliable product availability, cost efficiency, high quality standards and on-time delivery to customers. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics activities, while developing strong supplier partnerships and driving continuous improvement across operations. This is a key leadership role within the operations function, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on performance, resilience and sustainability across the supply chain.
What you'll be doing
* Managing the full supply chain from supplier sourcing through to customer delivery
* Forecasting demand and planning inventory to balance availability, working capital and storage capacity
* Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, including transport scheduling and warehouse operations
* Monitoring supply chain KPIs such as service level, stock turn and lead times, identifying and delivering improvements
* Sourcing products from UK and international suppliers and negotiating pricing, contracts and lead times
* Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, including regular performance reviews
* Identifying and mitigating risks such as supply disruption, shortages or price volatility
* Overseeing inventory management across warehouses and yards, ensuring accurate stock records and effective controls
* Driving best practice in warehouse layout, handling processes and stock accuracy
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality, health, safety and environmental standards
* Supporting sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives
* Collaborating closely with Sales, Finance, Production and Customer Service teams
* Producing regular reports on performance, costs and risks
* Leading, developing and motivating the supply chain team
* Championing continuous improvement across systems and processes
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
* Proven experience in a supply chain, logistics or procurement management role
* Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills
* Demonstrable experience managing suppliers and logistics providers
* Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
* Confident leadership style with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels
Desirable:
* Experience managing international supply chains and imports
* A professional qualification such as CIPS, APICS/CPIM or similar
