We are recruiting for a new M&E Quantity Surveyor to join the team at JCA Engineering to take full financial and commercial responsibility for a portfolio of contracts, ensuring that we cost-effectively deliver contracted services as well as additional services within legislative and contractual obligations. You will also be responsible for proactively supporting the delivery teams financially by processing monthly valuations, applications, forecasts, and variations.
What will you be doing?
You will generate studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs pre- and post-contract, report opportunities to existing and new clients, and assist the estimating team with tendering and quoting. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Integrating with the estimating team for accurate prime costs and smooth transition to contract stage, attending client meetings and site visits as needed.
2. Preparing, negotiating, analyzing, and reporting on supply chain costs for tenders and contracts.
3. Identifying and developing responses to commercial risks.
4. Ensuring contract terms are in place and managing contract works accordingly.
5. Closing out additional work opportunities financially within the month of work completion.
6. Managing quantity surveying teams and allocating resources efficiently.
7. Managing supply chain and sub-contractor contracts from enquiry to completion and retention release.
8. Identifying change requirements and opportunities to maximize revenue and reduce risks.
9. Reporting on contract performance according to company KPIs.
10. Managing financial applications, job costing, and forecasting processes for contract sales.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the Mechanical and Electrical industry, preferably within a Data Centre environment. You should be capable of managing multiple projects with varying values, demonstrating leadership aligned with JCA's brand. Additionally, you should have:
* Quantity Surveying and/or Construction/Engineering qualification (HND or Degree level)
* MRICS accreditation
* CSCS card relevant to the role
* Excellent analytical skills and experience with Document Management Systems, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Asta Powerproject, Excel, Anaplan, or similar tools
* Knowledge of statutory requirements, methods, contract types, and processes in construction and engineering
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
