Permanent, full time (36 hrs per week)

Starting salary: £43,482 per annum

The University seeks a Lecturer in Computer Science to join the Department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, specialising in areas including Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, Internet of Things, Programming Principles and Techniques, and general foundational Computer Science topics. The role involves designing engaging, inclusive curricula, fostering student success, and contributing to the development and innovation of departmental teaching practices. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the learning experience of future computing professionals and contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking academic environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in Computer Science, with a Master’s degree as a minimum (PhD preferred), and demonstrable teaching experience in higher education. They will have expertise across core Computer Science domains, particularly Data Structures and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, IoT, and programming fundamentals, and the ability to teach a broad range of modules. The candidate will be student-focused, innovative in pedagogy, and able to contribute to departmental initiatives, including curriculum development and collaborative projects. Excellent communication, organisational skills, and adaptability in teaching scenarios are essential. Experience of research or industry collaboration is desirable.
