Join a nurturing, inclusive team where every child is given the chance to thrive.

We’re proud to be partnering with a leading children’s residential home in Herefordshire to find compassionate, dedicated individuals who want to create positive, lasting change in the lives of children with additional needs.

Whether you have experience in nursing, adult care, education, youth work, sports coaching, or even roles in the prison or ambulance services, this could be the next meaningful step in your career.

The Role

This is a hands-on role supporting children with autism, complex needs, and emotional or behavioural challenges. You’ll be based in a residential home with a strong reputation for excellence in care, working in small, family-style dorms alongside experienced support staff.

No two days are the same. You'll be part of a team that provides structure, emotional support, and meaningful engagement every day.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support children through their morning and evening routines

* Build positive, trusting relationships with children

* Assist with vocational and social development activities

* Deliver sensory play sessions (full training provided)

* Encourage independence in daily tasks like cooking and self-care

* Promote a positive and structured home environment

* Be an emotionally available adult — calm, adaptable, and understanding

* Communicate regularly with parents and professionals about the child’s progress

* Maintain accurate safeguarding records and daily logs

* Take part in day trips and outdoor activities such as shopping, climbing, and bowling

Shift Pattern Available:3-Day Rolling Contract – £34,000 Starting Salary

Must have either a Level 3 qualification or at least 3 years of care experience

* Work a fixed shift pattern: 3 days on, 3 days off

* Typical shift: 07:00–22:00

* Consistent schedule for better work-life balance

* Full-time, permanent role

Training & Career Development

* Team introductions and shadowing shifts

* Specialist training in behaviour, de-escalation, and sensory support

* Opportunity to complete fully funded qualifications, including Levels 1–3

* Clear progression into senior roles, with increased pay and responsibility

We invest in people who want to grow.

Ideal backgrounds include:

* Children’s support work or adult care

* Nursing, ambulance, or prison services

* Teaching assistants, sports coaches, or youth workers
