This new role sits in a revamped department at the heart of the world’s largest airshow. Supporting the Head of Business Development and Customer Engagement, you will co‑curate and deliver an immersive first‑class customer experience across the showground. You will drive the teams that bring RIAT to life and have the freedom to shape the role.
Responsibilities
* Manage all branded graphics and printing on the RIAT showground, capturing print and signage requirements from all departments (wayfinding, theming, sponsor branding), ensuring effective supplier management, cost control, budget allocation, artwork sign‑off and seamless implementation.
* Lead end‑to‑end procurement and implementation of retail traders and activity providers: procurement, contracting, invoicing, coordinating operational requirements with other departments, ensuring commercial targets are met or exceeded.
* Support direct sales of third‑party retail trading and sponsorship opportunities across the showground.
* Assist in development and delivery of themed areas and coordinate catering concessions and independent traders.
* Deliver key customer engagement touchpoints such as Customer Entry Points, Fast Track locations, Official Camping and Evening Entertainment programmes.
* Recruit, train and manage temporary staff and volunteers for Customer Engagement teams.
* Liaise with Ground Operations and Air Operations on planning, delivery and review of consumer‑related activities to meet safety criteria and customer service standards.
* Collaborate with Marketing on customer communications and operational messaging to ensure accurate, on‑brand website content and emails.
* Participate in other RAFCTE events as required.
* Ensure showground activities comply with RAFCTE sustainability requirements.
About you
• ‘A Level’ standard of education or equivalent experience, with a proven track record in delivering outdoor events or exhibitions.
• Experience selling concession opportunities to third parties, negotiating contracts, and managing budgets with accuracy and accountability.
• IT literary, strong account and stakeholder management skills; experience working with volunteers is an advantage.
• Well‑honed sales and marketing abilities, exceptional organisational and time‑management skills, resilience under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Collaborative, building strong relationships across departments and with clients, with a focus on accuracy, detail and effective negotiation.
• Leadership and motivational abilities, clear written and verbal communication.
• Commercially minded, customer‑focused, confident, personable, pragmatic and solution‑focused.
• Safety‑first mindset, team player, ambition, professionalism and dedication to excellence.
